Answer

|
I have one SPN-5000 module - can I have more phone (caller) inputs?
|
Yes. The console supports two SPN-5000 modules. If you need to
handle additional callers, please see our white paper
Making
The Connection (pdf).

|
I have crosstalk and/or distortion issues involving only some inputs.
Why?
|
The A 5000 console employs a non-summing talkback bus, fed by any
mic input that is configured to feed the bus. Since the talkback bus is
non-summing, feeding it from multiple inputs causes crosstalk and/or
distortion on all inputs so assigned. You must choose only one input to
feed the talkback bus. This is accomplished with position 4 of the
module’s seven position dipswitch SW1.

How do I set up talkback from the control room to the studio?
|
Any single MM-5000 mic input can be set up to feed the internal
talkback bus by turning on the channel’s TB TO ST dipswitch (SW1
position
4, located on the individual MM-5000 module circuit
board). The audio on this bus interrupts the studio output when the
studio TB button on the console is pressed. Please note, only one
channel in the console may be assigned to the talkback bus.

How do I talk with the caller off line?
|
Any single MM-5000 mic input can be set up to feed the internal
talkback bus by turning on the channel’s TB TO ST dipswitch (SW1
position
4, located on the individual MM-5000 module circuit
board). The audio on this bus interrupts the caller feed when the
caller CUE button on the console is pressed. Please note, only one
channel in the console may be assigned to the talkback bus.
