Wheatstone's Wheatnet-IP networking system is at the center of a new facility!
Engineer Greg Charles Manfroi describes the design of his new facility, built around the WheatNet-IP Audio-Over-IP networking system from Wheatstone Corporation, in a recent Radio World article. Consisting of five radio studios, a performance studio and a Technical Operations Center, the facility is brilliantly designed and is a real showplace.

Wheatstone E-6 consoles installed at NASCAR Hall of Fame, in time for grand opening!
The NASCAR Media Group, with the assistance of integrator CEI and consultant Stu Albert Broadcast, recently completed the installation of a Wheatstone TDM network, just in time for the grand opening of the facility in June.

Wheatnet-TDM Audio Network System Scheduled for Delivery at New Corus Headquarters in Toronto
The Corus Entertainment Group is constructing a 500,000 square foot multi-media complex dubbed Corus Quay to serve as their new headquarters. Wheatstone Corporation will provide the audio infrastructure for facility's radio stations CILQ (Q107 FM), CFNY (Edge FM), and CFMJ (640 AM) . The Bridge-based system is the first to integrate the E-Series control surfaces into a TDM platform. It consists of eight Evolution 6 control surfaces, two Evolution 4 control surfaces, nine Evolution 6 VMI-E Virtual Mixer Interfaces, and twelve Glass E Remote Control Surface Software bundles. The backbone of the system consists of two WheatNet 4864s (48 port TDM switches) in a dual-redundant configuration interfacing to six 22-position Bridge I/O frames and twenty 10-Position Bridge Satellite I/O frames, creating a 1000 x 1200 audio I/O matrix and 552 x 552 GPI logic matrix. Shipment is scheduled for early February. |

Acadia stations CHSJ-FM & CHWV-FM in Saint John, New Brunswick have purchased 4 x E6 control surfaces, 5 x IP-88a Analog Blades, 1x IP-88ad analog/digital Blade, 17 AoIP Drivers for sound card replacement on iMediaTouch, Glass E (remote surface control software), Navigator (system configuration software) and 10 GP Series
desk top turret systems through Wheatstone's Canadian dealer, Ron Paley
Broadcast. Hugh Morrison (Chief Engineer) with the help of Paul East at
SBL (Sound Broadcasting Ltd.) designed both the IT network back bone and
the Wheatnet-IP audio network. Installation will begin February 2010. |

Astral Media Radio CKQB-FM in Ottawa Upgrades with Wheatstone Blade Networking Technology
Astral Media Radio in Ottawa, ON purchased 2 x E6 and 4x E4
control surfaces along with 12 x IP-88a Analog Blades, Glass E (remote
surface control software), Navigator (system configuration software)
and PC-XY Site License (configurable PC router control software) through
Wheatstone's dealer Marketing Marc Vallee for their current station
format Virgin Radio and the newly assigned license by the CRTC. Jorge
Del Cid (Chief Engineer) at Astral Radio Ottawa will be starting
installation for the IP- based network audio system using Cisco Catalyst switches in February 2010. |

Evanov Radio Group Toronto Outfits New Headquarters with Wheatnet-IP Audio Network
Evanov Radio Group Toronto (CIDC-FM, CKDX-FM & CIAO-AM) recently installed a
Wheatnet-IP system to help move into their new facility just a few doors
down the street which now houses all three radio stations and corporate
offices. An E-4 control surface, 4 IP-88a analog Blades, 1x IP-88ad
Blade, Navigator (system configuration software) and PC-XY Site License
(configuration PC router control software) was all purchased from
Wheatstone's Canadian dealer, Ron Paley Broadcast and installed by
Evanov's engineers |

Evanov Radio Group renovates newly acquired
CKPC-AM/FM facility with Wheatnet-IP Audio Network
Evanov Radio Group recently purchased CKPC in Brantford, ON from
Telephone City Broadcast Ltd. They decided to renovate the current
facilities with Wheatnet-IP. Adam Robinson (Director of Technologies) and Leanne Browne (Chief Engineer) were quick to choose 2 x E4 control
surfaces, 3 x IP-88a Analog Blades and Navigator (system configuration
software) after their recent installation of Wheatnet- IP at the new
facility in Toronto. The Brantford system was purchased from
Wheatstone's Canadian dealer, Ron Paley Broadcast and installed by
Evanov's engineers.. |

University of Toronto Will Go On-AIr with Wheatnet-IP Blade System at New Facility
University of Toronto (CIUT-FM) Sam Petite (Chief Engineer) of CIUT
purchased Wheatnet-IP system for their new broadcast studio located at
the new facility on campus. An E4 control surface, 2x IP-88a Analog
Blades and Navigator (system configuration software) were purchased
through Ron Paley Broadcast in Winnipeg, MB. The system was installed
by TRC Systems (Ted Clarke) using a Cisco Catalyst Gigabit Ethernet
switch. |

Atlantic Broadcasters Ltd Installs Wheatnet-IP and Vorsis Audio Processors
Atlantic Broadcasters Ltd. (CJFX-FM, XFM) recently installed a
Wheatnet-IP audio network in their current facility. 2x E6 control
surfaces, 1x VMI, 4x IP-88a Analog Blades, 6x AoIP Drivers for sound
card replacement on iMediaTouch On-Air & Production PC's, Navigator
(system configuration software), Vorsis FM-5 and 2x Vorsis VP-8
processors through Ron Paley Broadcast in Winnipeg, MB. Barry MacKinnon
(Operations Manager) and Chad Jackson (Consultant) chose the Wheatnet-IP system due
to the V.M.I. control surface The V.M.I. (Virtual Mixer Interface) is a
full control surface located on a PC. This eliminates the need for a
hardware control surface, and allows access to all inputs within the
network. The system was installed by TRC Systems in Toronto (Ted
Clarke) using a Cisco Catalyst Gigabit Ethernet switch. |

Seattle Public Schools To Integrate Wheatnet-IP System Into New Building
After evaluating several systems, Greg
Nielson (GM) along with Matt Cohen (Engineer) decided to purchase the
Wheatnet- IP audio network for their new building. This will be a multi-
phase project where Phase 1 will incorporate 1 E4 control surface, 3x
IP-88a Analog Blades, 2x IP-88ad Analog / Digital Blades, 4x IP-88d
Digital Blades, 6 AoIP Drivers for sound card replacement on
iMediaTouch and various production softwares, 2 XYE-R system
controllers, 1 XYE-RD dual hardware controller and Navigator (system
configuration software). KNHC used local contract engineer Buzz
Anderson to help with the installation and purchased all the equipment
though Broadcast Supply Worldwide (BSW). |
