Networkable
TV
Broadcast
Consoles
Wheatstone offers a
complete range of digital audio
consoles for live on-air television
production. All models are
router-based with one or more control
surfaces integrated to one or more I/O
router frames. Inherent in the
design is full networking of multiple
control surfaces for both independent
and tandem operation in multi-room
facilities, as well as complete
upward scalability, making for the
most future-proof system in the
industry.
All systems can handle a
mix of both analog and digital input
sources and output destinations.
All systems support 5.1 surround
sources on a single input fader.
Additionally, all systems can
optionally bridge to house router
systems and can be controlled by
external automation such as Ross
Overdrive, Sony, and Grass Valley
Ignite.
|
Single Studio Setup
The I/O frames can be configured to
operate stand-alone or multiple frames
can be “networked” through
Wheatstone’s Wheatnet, Bridge or
Evolution Series audio switches.

Designed for
applications that require
large console features in
a compact footprint, such
as small control rooms or
OB, the D-16 gives the
operator control of all
channel parameters in a
clean logical layout
without resorting to
multiple layers of
assignable controls.
A 32 Input fader, 64
channel system takes less
than 50 inches (127 cm) of
space.
When configured for dual
layer operation, each
input channel has two
input source displays, one
showing the current active
channel, the other showing
the channel one layer
down, eliminating the need
to
“interrogate”
a channel to determine
source status.
While designed for tight
spaces, multiple frame
sizes allow you to spread
out the layout as your
space permits.

The D-10 has ALL
the controls needed right
WHERE they’re
needed, complete with
well-lit switches and
encoder lightpipes for
fast visual confirmation
— no complicated
layering or function
sharing to surprise your
operators.
It’s all instantly
there: fader, primary bus
assigns, bus-minus
control, aux sends and
channel gain. Only
secondary functions (like
equalization and dynamics)
are centralized.
The D-10 has a well
thought-out talkback
system, eight subgroup
mixes , as well as four
DCMs (digitally controlled
master/mute groups).
Plus eight mix-minus buses
with a full confidence
feed system.
Subgroups, DCMs and
Masters all have dedicated
faders, so these functions
are one step and
error-free (no assignable
faders utilized).

Wheatstone features
and performance for the
mid- and small market
facility — the
television console you
always wanted but didn't
think you could afford.
Fully featured, the D-8
incorporates an incredibly
intuitive touchscreen for
metering and for lesser
used and set-and-forget
controls. Up to 32
channels of mix-minus /
N-1 outputs, surround
panning, and per-channel
delay are just a few of
the requisite functions
rarely found in consoles
at this price.
Utilizing the same
Wheatstone Bridge audio
networking technology as
the D-5.2, D-16, and D-10,
the D-8 can be configured
with any combination of
analog and digital
inputs. Those inputs
can be mono mic or line,
stereo, or 5.1. 5.1
and stereo output
buses allow you to feed
both your HD and SD
program streams with no
fuss.

A true DSP powerhouse, Gibraltar provides up to 1024 DSP signal paths
(any combination of 5.1, stereo, and mono channels). It can apply all
of its processing functions to 768 input paths and 256 mix output paths
simultaneously. Gibraltar's flexible mixing architecture can handle 500
mix buses.
Gibraltar's EQ facilities include 4 band fully parametric EQ with
HF/LF peaking or shelving, and 3 parametric filters (high pass, low pass,
& notch) per channel. Compression, limiting, and gating are also on board,
with 16 control channels for keying, ducking, and sidechain applications.
Of course, you'll also find panning and surround imaging control, and
individual input and output delay capability of up to 650ms per path.
